Who we are

Rouillier Drilling is first and foremost the story of a family man, Marcel Rouillier, who decided to invest himself, heart and soul, into his company.

Mario Rouillier, the founder’s son, has been running the company for nearly 25 years now.

One thing led to another, and Rouillier Drilling made its way onto the Quebec market to become a leader in the drilling industry in Eastern Canada.

Its strength and reputation are the result of its focus on excellence, long-term commitment and customer satisfaction.

What has defined us since the very beginning is our professionalism, and the fact that we always put customer satisfaction first while prioritizing innovation, performance, teamwork and safety.

Our mission

What do we want? To provide the mining industry with top-quality diamond drilling services and thus foster the success of our business partners without compromising the environment, health and safety or the well-being of the people who make us so successful.

ECOLOGO certification

The UL 2724 ECOLOGO Certification Program for Suppliers of Mineral Exploration Industry is the first Canadian certification for mineral exploration companies.  As of October 23, 2019, we were the first to receive certification in the UL 2724 ECOLOGO Certification Program for Suppliers of Mineral Exploration, having completed all the steps required for the process.

Alliance with First Nations

Forages Rouillier has joined forces with Indigenous communities. This is how Youdin Rouillier Drilling and Avataa Rouillier Drilling came to be.

Youdin Rouillier Drilling was born from an alliance between Rouillier Drilling and Ted Moses, an influential personality and businessman who is a proud supporter of the integration of Crees into the economic development of the Abitibi-Témiscamingue and Nord-du-Québec regions. Youdin Rouillier Drilling’s mission is to develop and strengthen the economy of northern Quebec, particularly by supporting mineral exploration.

Avataa Rouillier Drilling is a diamond drilling services company operating in Nunavik with the valuable partnership of Charlie Watt Jr. and Christine Nakoolak.   Its mission is to use the human and material resources of the region’s Inuit territories to grow the economy.

At our company, the environment is one of our employees’ top priorities,
from drillers to the company’s management.

As a result, we have acquired sustainable equipment that’s designed with environmental protection in mind. Our employees are also trained to develop the right instincts for preserving our ecosystems.

Our transport equipment runs on tracks, providing unparalleled traction
on all surfaces and reducing damage to fragile soils.

  • Coronavirus: Preventive Measures and Hygiene

Over the past few days, many countries have been hit in various ways by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The Groupe Rouillier is committed to keeping the employees of its subsidiaries up to date on the situation. It has also taken several steps to limit the spread.

The team managed to find an idea that was both simple and very attractive. They examined it in more depth and tested it out. A certain amount of control over the drill was given to the driller’s helper, who is usually the one who is close to the moving parts.

Rouillier Drilling already offers its employees an attractive extended assistance program, but it has just added a bold new element that takes its ongoing concern for its collaborators’ wellness to the next level.
